Insight into our
Projects
The project overview provides an insight into our work as an engineering office. Using selected projects, we show how we support companies and organizations in the development and implementation of individual solutions — in a practical, goal-oriented and cooperative manner.
Feasibility study “Blechenstrasse heating solution”
Feasibility study for the heat supply of a residential complex in Berlin: analysis of the existing natural gas-based situation, techno-economic comparison of district heating and heat pump solutions as possible alternatives with CO₂ price risk assessment. Goal: Efficient, resilient heat supply for 67 residential units.
Expert competition support for VGV school remodeling competition
Expert support for a VGV school building competition with a focus on indoor air quality, thermal comfort in winter and effective heat protection in summer. Evaluation of the designs with regard to robust low-tech ventilation concepts, passive cooling strategies and energy-efficient building technology as a basis for sustainable, user-oriented planning.
Energy audit local heating Tegel
Energy audit according to DIN 16247 with implementation plan and calculation of measures according to VALERI. Focus on optimization of local heating network system with generation and distribution.
Funding and sub-project management LowEx network TXL
We are supporting the development of the innovative bidirectional LowEx network on the former site of Berlin Tegel Airport.
PV Onsite PPA for logistics, retail, hotel and office
Analysis of requirement criteria in a workshop with subsequent 2‑stage market survey of photovoltaic suppliers. Evaluation of economic and technical performance as well as the operator model option roof lease model with onsite PPA.
Refurbishment roadmap and implementation support
Technical status analysis of the electricity-based, decentralized heating and cooling supply with development of measures to reduce energy costs. Focus: operational optimization of ventilation and air conditioning units with measurement and control adjustment
Implementation of energy management ISO 50.001
As part of the energy management implementation, organizational consulting is provided, including the development of an energy policy, action plan and legal register. A detailed analysis of the energy flows and waste heat potential is carried out with the development of measures.
Energy analysis and district heating check
The heating, cooling and power supply for the Toom store in Hanover was analyzed. The analysis focused on the economic analysis for the conversion of natural gas-based heat generation to district heating.
Energy concept and implementation consulting
Since 2025, there has been a new energy supply for the www.stechlin-institut.org. In the middle of the forest, a water-bearing wood-burning stove provides cozy warmth in selected zones on cold days. A geothermal heat pump provides the basic temperature, supplemented by solar thermal energy for hot water. Photovoltaic modules and translucent PV elements on the terrace roof match the roof. An electric charging station completes the infrastructure. The result is an energy-efficient system that blends harmoniously into the tranquil, natural setting.
Watts supported the design and the application for funding.
watts
GoalsOur aim is to create efficient, durable and low-tech systems that guarantee thermal comfort, convenience and operational reliability. By intelligently networking energy sources and sinks, we create price-stable, resource-saving energy systems that are highly suitable for everyday use.
watts
PremisesSufficiency. The responsible use of natural resources such as the atmosphere and raw materials forms the basis of our work at watts. We develop customized systems — not too big, not too small — that are precisely tailored to the actual needs of the users.
Efficient. In addition to the consistent reduction of energy losses through efficiency measures, watts places particular emphasis on energy recycling: the use of existing energy, for example from recooling plants or commercial waste heat from the neighborhood.
Participative. The creation of social common good is a central maxim of watts. We foster open and trusting cooperation — both internally within the team and in projects. We involve relevant stakeholders in a targeted manner and take different perspectives into account.
