watts supports the public sector with overarching heat planning. Energy mapping software is used to analyze existing buildings and evaluate potential for refurbishment, environmental heat and waste heat. Stakeholder management and the design of the participation process are carried out by means of stakeholder mapping. The results are incorporated into the evaluation of the future scenarios and the development of the implementation strategy.

watts supports the development of the climate protection plan in all energy issues. Measures to accelerate the energy-efficient refurbishment of buildings, the expansion of photovoltaics and the implementation of fossil-free local heating networks are being developed and economically evaluated. The focus here is on citizen-oriented implementation with participatory participation models through citizen energy communities.

watts develops energy-efficient refurbishment roadmaps and provides support during implementation — the existing building stock is recorded, economic packages of measures are determined and presented, a refurbishment roadmap with capex planning is defined and implementation is accompanied by project management.

watts identifies funding opportunities from the federal and state governments, assists with funding applications and the documentation and accounting of funding programs, e.g. for the municipal guideline of the National Climate Protection Initiative.
Energy concept and implementation consulting
Since 2025, there has been a new energy supply for the www.stechlin-institut.org. In the middle of the forest, a water-bearing wood-burning stove provides cozy warmth in selected zones on cold days. A geothermal heat pump provides the basic temperature, supplemented by solar thermal energy for hot water. Photovoltaic modules and translucent PV elements on the terrace roof match the roof. An electric charging station completes the infrastructure. The result is an energy-efficient system that blends harmoniously into the tranquil, natural setting.
